Tough Toy Pros Review
Products from Kong® make the list of Willie’s favorite durable dog toys over and over, and they do so again with this great Kong® Squeezz Stick. This stick is a solid toy that is fun for both me and Willie to play with. It is large enough to be comfortable in my hands, and still be the perfect size for Willie to squeeze and squeak in his jaws. This toy is seriously tough. We have tugged, tossed, pulled, twisted, bit, and thrown this thing all around the house and yard and it’s not a bit worse for the wear.
You can get an idea of how thick the stick is in this adorable picture of Willie. The stick comes in medium and large sizes. Willie has a large size stick. It is smooth except for the nodules that are meant to be there. It has no flavor or scent.
Though I’ve seen Willie’s canine teeth chomping down directly on it, and I then pulled on it one way while he pulled with all his might against me, the stick isn’t punctured anywhere. His teeth don’t even leave a dent in the rubbery material. And it still squeaks today as vigorously as the day we got it.
We have had this toy for eight months. That is like 56 years in Willie-time, and like 56 lifetimes when it comes to toys in this house. Almost nothing lasts as long as this toy has. And it is a regular in play sessions.
As we know, if it squeaks, it’s going in Willie’s mouth, and this is another toy that Willie loves to run around with squeaking in his mouth. What I like about it is that I can get it out of Willie’s mouth easier than other toys, so I can throw it for him to fetch and he gets more exercise that way.
It has a hollow center which gives it some flexibility and the ability to float. The flexibility is part of what makes it so durable.
The Kong® Squeez family includes a ring, dumbbell, football, ball, and bone. It is a very popular family of toys with all of its members earning a four star rating or better on Amazon. They are all nicely priced, too. The ball is the cheapest, generally costing around $3. The others should run around $5, though the stick is the biggest and most expensive at around $10. It is well worth the few extra dollars and makes Willie’s 5-Star List easily.
SQEEEEEEAK! I love this toy! It’s always around, too, always handy right when I need it. We take it outside, inside, it doesn’t matter. It’s good to go everywhere. It’s super easy for me to chomp down on, so I get a real good strong hold on it when we play tug. And it’s light enough I can throw it in the air and run with it.

Some dogs are able to tear this stick apart eventually, and a few were able to destroy it within minutes. Some chewers can destroy its squeaking ability. The ends are a particularly vulnerable part. Also, it will get slobbery during tug-of-war. This toy is made to be used during active play rather than as something to give a dog to sit and chew. Among the dogs who destroyed this toy were these breeds: Goldendoodle, terrier, Alaskan husky, labrador, and pit bull.
This stick is a huge hit with the fetchers and the squeak-lovers. Dogs really enjoy running with and squeaking this stick in their mouths. They also like to play tug with it. The word “durable” comes up over and over again in high reviews. Even if it’s not designed specifically to be a chew toy, it survives repeated chew sessions with many dogs. One remarkable statement was that “it has survived being chewed and gnawed on by several different foster dogs throughout the years, and is still durable, bouncy and squeaks perfectly.”
Breeds who enjoyed this stick are: Doberman, pit mixes, labradors, English bulldog, golden retriever, mini Aussie, dachshund, and pit bull.
The Kong Squeezz Stick is a great toy to use to play with an aggressive chewer. It encourages exercise, is inexpensive, and will likely last a long time.
